Hikkaduwa beach

Hikkaduwa Beach - Fascinating Hikkaduwa Beach ....

I have written a number of articles about the beautiful places in the south of Sri Lanka and why I have not found anything about the golden beaches of Hikkaduwa where I was born. Perhaps the most frequent chicken coop is white.
The area was named a marine sanctuary in 1979 due to the unique coral system in the Hikkaduwa coast and the rare species found there. This is the first marine sanctuary designated in Sri Lanka. In 2002, it was declared as a National Park by the Department of Wildlife Conservation as the second marine national park in Sri Lanka.

The beach with the waves
Hikkaduwa has been known for its excellent coral system ever since. Coral reefs are created by a large collection of coral polyp, which is formed by the outer shell of its calcium carbonate. This is the result of thousands of years of work on the coastal belt of Hikkaduwa Vowel system was born.

Coral ...

The El Niෝo phenomenon of 1997-98, the 2004 tsunami, and many other human activities are no longer as beautiful as the coral reefs of Hikkaduwa. The ones that have died are white because they are dead. But even today, Hikkaduwa's lifeline is this beautiful beach.
Tourists from all over the world flock there to enjoy its warmth. One of the main attractions of the tourists these days is the sea turtles behind the Shadow Trans Hotel in Hikkaduwa. At first there were only two large adult turtles, but now there are five turtles along with the cubs.

Surrounded by turtles ....
They stay there to eat seaweed, which is handmade by tourists. There are also people selling seaweed and throwing them into shopping bags and selling them to the turtles.

Red, brown algae and more seaweed
Although tourism is a key component of the economy, the socio-cultural issues associated with it are not lacking in Hikkaduwa. Social stigmas such as drugs and prostitution are still issues that plague Hikkaduwa.
However, the annual 'Hikka' concert in Hikkaduwa has caused a stir. A newspaper journalist, who is a notorious journalist in the infamous 'Divaina' newspaper, wrote a photo of a beach party in Dubai, posing for nude photos at the 2009 carnival. Fortunately, the truth was revealed.
The natural beauty of Hikkaduwa will not last long. Hikkaduwa beach is still a bittersweet experience. It is because of the high fuel odor of the fresh water. This is due to the fuel emanating from the glass bottom boats that run close to the shore. In addition, the garbage disposed of by unscrupulous tourists and some hoteliers also piles up on the beach.
The 'whites' are now coming to Hikkaduwa less than usual. The majority of the tourists are beggars who have little to no income. In the vicinity of the Hikkaduwa town, I saw a young child sitting by a dusty trash can with a hopper wrapped in a sheet of paper. Hikkaduwa fair is full of tourists. They come to take a picture and take a picture. Now he comes to fetch two hundred and fifty tomatoes and a cabbage and cook them in a lodging place. They don't eat much from restaurants. I also had to intervene to explain to the 'Sudhukku' who had got into a heated argument over the fish market. He scolded the vendor until I told him that the vendor offered him and me the same price. These are our fault too. Most animals, if they see a flock, try to chew its flesh. Whites who are experienced in these things now say the exact number is not accepted.
In spite of all these problems, Hikkaduwa beach is still old and still retaining its beauty like an old actress. That's why tourists still love her.
