Ingobaoya in sri Lanka

12km walk from Nawalapitiya to Ingobaoya via Galboda ....

When you say a rail hike on the upcountry railway line, many people dream of going from Pattipola to Idalgasinha, or from Ohiya to Haputale. A lot of people think it's the coolest part of the Upcountry Railway. No, it is not .There are a lot of different places on the railway line.

Our train hike was to the Nawalapitiya to Galboda, the first part of the beauty of the up country railway line. There is only one main railway station in Nawalapitiya to Galboda which is about 12 km away. There are also three small railway stations that are stopping: Hyndford, Hangaronoya and Penrose Nav. It is said that these railway stations are used for the transportation of raw materials and for the transportation of the people in this area which has been a tea estate region since ancient times.

The Ingur-oya Railway Station is a special railway station which is situated along the up country railway line which runs through some lush tea estates. The distance to the Colombo Fort is 147km and the distance from Ingur-oya to Badulla is 145Km. Therefore, many consider Ingur-oya Railway Station to be located on the Kandyan Railway line which is the same distance from Colombo and Badulla.

On one side of the trail we see a beautiful river flowing down the river called the Sudu Ganga, a tributary of the Mahaweli River. It flows beautifully from one end of the turpentine to the other, giving anyone who sees it a chance to enjoy its beauty even more. Another unique spot near Galboda. In the same way, there is again a bridge, a bridge and a part of the bungalow. It is often called the Twin Tunnels. This is about a kilometer from Galboda Railway Station. Anyone who sees the place is clearly convinced that it is indeed a beautiful place. The beauty of it is incomparable. With a railway bridge in the middle of a tunnel, surrounded by a stream of beautifully tidal waters, the place is an utterly mysterious environment in the absence of a train. The feeling is indescribable.

After passing a short distance towards Galboda, the road leading to the famous Galboda Falls is located. The 12 km journey from Nawalapitiya to Galboda Railway Station ended with the arrival of the Galboda Railway Station.

If you are alive, visit this beauty at least once. But keep in mind that one thing is to never harm the environment. After the tour, leave the beauty and leave only the footprints and come back.
